Professor Dr. Dirk Jäger has been head of the medical oncology department at the National Center for Tumor Diseases (NCT) Heidelberg since July 1, 2005 and is responsible for the entire clinical area at the NCT Heidelberg. All oncological departments of the university hospital are integrated into the interdisciplinary outpatient structure of the NCT Heidelberg. A key focus of the department is the translation of innovative treatment approaches into early clinical studies. Strategies that use the patient’s own immune system to treat tumors play an important role here.
